In 2024, after years of trading and building web platforms, we realized that backtesting — the most important step before risking real capital — remained inaccessible to most traders. Existing tools required programming skills, expensive subscriptions, or both. We set out to change that.
StratBase.ai was born from a simple idea: what if you could describe your trading strategy in plain words and let AI handle the formalization? Today, our platform serves traders worldwide with a Rust-powered engine processing 500K+ candles in 3–7 seconds, 245+ technical indicators, and coverage across crypto, forex, and US stocks.

The backtesting engine is built in Rust for maximum performance, integrated with Python via PyO3. The frontend runs on Next.js 16 with server-side rendering for speed and SEO. AI capabilities are powered by Claude (Anthropic) — Opus for deep analysis, Sonnet for strategy formalization, and Haiku for multilingual content. All data is stored in PostgreSQL with TimescaleDB for time-series optimization.
