Each subscription plan includes a monthly AI budget. Understanding how it works helps you use AI features efficiently.
Monthly AI Budget

How Budget is Consumed
Different AI features consume budget at different rates:

Why Opus Costs More
Claude Opus 4.5 is Anthropic's most powerful model — it produces deeper, more nuanced analysis but costs approximately 10x more per token than Sonnet.
Tracking Your Usage
Dashboard
The Plan Usage widget on your dashboard shows:
- Total AI budget for the current period
- Amount used so far
- Remaining balance
User Menu
The AI usage progress bar is also visible in the user dropdown menu in the top navigation.
Budget Reset
- Paid plans: Budget resets on your billing date (monthly or yearly cycle)
- Free plan: Budget resets on the 1st of each month
What Happens When You Run Out
When your AI budget is depleted:
- Chat messages return a "limit reached" notification
- AI Analysis and Research Document buttons are disabled
- You can still create and run backtests manually
- All monitoring tools and calculators remain available
Getting More AI Credits
If you need more AI usage before your next reset:
- Upgrade your plan — higher tiers have larger budgets
- Purchase credit packs — additional credits available:

Low Balance Notification
When you reach 80% of your AI budget, the system sends a one-time notification (in-app and email if enabled). This gives you time to:
- Plan remaining usage carefully
- Consider purchasing additional credits
- Switch to manual configuration for simple changes
Tips for Efficient AI Usage
- Be specific — clear prompts get accurate results in fewer messages
- Use manual controls — for simple changes (timeframe, SL value), edit the form directly
- Batch changes — describe multiple changes in one message instead of several
- Save analyses — AI Analysis results are saved permanently; no need to re-run
- Use the wizard — the guided setup often needs fewer follow-up messages

Q: Do I lose unused credits at the end of the month? A: Yes, the monthly subscription budget resets each billing cycle. Purchased credit packs do not expire.
Q: Can I see a breakdown of my AI spending? A: The dashboard shows total used vs. total available. Detailed per-message breakdowns are not currently available.
Q: Does manual backtest creation use AI credits? A: No. Only AI chat messages, analyses, and research documents consume credits. Running backtests, using calculators, and monitoring tools are free.
