📋Backtest Configuration
📌

Timeframe & Test Period

Configure the candle timeframe and historical period for your backtest. These settings determine the granularity and scope of your strategy test.

📌

Available Timeframes

| Timeframe | Code | Description | Min Plan | |-----------|------|-------------|----------| | 1 second | 1s | Ultra-high frequency (scalping) | Premium | | 1 minute | 1m | Intraday scalping | Free | | 3 minutes | 3m | Short-term intraday | Free | | 5 minutes | 5m | Intraday trading | Free | | 15 minutes | 15m | Intraday swing | Free | | 30 minutes | 30m | Intraday swing | Free | | 1 hour | 1h | Swing trading | Free | | 4 hours | 4h | Position trading | Free | | 1 day | 1d | Daily analysis | Free | | 1 week | 1w | Weekly analysis | Free |

📌

Choosing the Right Timeframe

Scalping (1s – 5m)

  • Very short trades (seconds to minutes)
  • High trade frequency
  • Requires tight spreads and low commission
  • 1-second timeframe available on Premium+ plans only

Intraday (15m – 1h)

  • Trades within a single day
  • Moderate frequency
  • Good balance between signal quality and trade count

Swing (4h – 1d)

  • Trades lasting days to weeks
  • Fewer but potentially larger moves
  • Less noise, clearer trends

Position (1w)

  • Long-term trades (weeks to months)
  • Lowest frequency
  • Best for trend-following strategies
📌

Test Period

Maximum Period by Plan

| Plan | Max Period | |------|-----------| | Free | 1 year | | Pro | 3 years | | Premium | 5 years | | Private | 5 years |

Setting the Period

  1. Choose Start date and End date in the configurator
  2. Or use quick presets: Last 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 3 years, 5 years
  3. The system checks data availability and adjusts automatically

Data Availability

Not all instruments have data for the maximum period. The actual range depends on:

  • When the instrument was listed on the exchange
  • Data coverage in our database
  • Your subscription plan limits

Tip: The configurator shows the actual available data range for each instrument. If you select a period outside the available range, the system automatically adjusts to the available data.

📌

Multi-Timeframe Note

You can use different timeframes for different indicators within the same strategy. For example, enter on 1h RSI signal but filter by 4h trend. See Multi-Timeframe Conditions for details.

❓

FAQ

Q: Does a longer test period give better results? A: Longer periods capture more market regimes (bull, bear, sideways), giving more robust results. However, very old data may not reflect current market conditions.

Q: Can I test on weekends for crypto? A: Yes, crypto trades 24/7. The data includes weekends and holidays.

Q: Why is 1-second data Premium only? A: 1-second data requires significantly more storage and processing power. Each day contains 86,400 candles compared to 1,440 for 1-minute data.
