Publishing a Backtest
Publishing a Backtest
When you create a backtest, you choose its visibility level — this determines who can see it and whether it appears in the public Strategy Catalog.
Visibility Options
| Level | Catalog | Config Visible | Results Visible | Who Can See | |-------|---------|---------------|-----------------|-------------| | Public | Yes | Everyone | Everyone | Anyone (no login needed) | | Private | No | Approved users only | Approved users | Owner + approved users | | Confidential | No | Never | Never | Owner only |
Default: Public (available on all plans). Private & Confidential: Require Private tier subscription ($99/mo).
What Others See on a Public Backtest
- Full strategy configuration (all entry/exit conditions, indicators, parameters)
- Complete results (ROI, trades, equity curve, monthly returns)
- Health Score and Risk Score
- Clone count (how many times the strategy was copied)
- Comments section
- Like and favorite buttons
Making a Backtest Public
Simply set the visibility to "Public" when creating or editing a backtest. Once the backtest completes, it automatically appears in the catalog.
Access Request System (Private Backtests)
For private backtests, other users can request access:
- User requests access — with an optional message explaining why
- Owner receives notification — in-app, email, and/or Telegram (depending on preferences)
- Owner reviews — can see requester's profile and message
- Owner grants or denies — requester gets notified of the decision
- If approved — requester can view the full config and results
Tip: If you receive access requests via Telegram, you can approve or deny them directly from the Telegram notification using inline buttons.
Best Practices
- Share publicly to build your reputation and gain followers
- Use private for strategies you want to share selectively
- Use confidential for experimental or sensitive strategies
FAQ
Q: Can I change visibility after the backtest is complete? A: The visibility is set during creation. To change it, you can clone the backtest with a different visibility setting.
Q: Do private backtests still count toward my badges? A: Yes — all backtests contribute to your XP and badge progress regardless of visibility.
Q: Can someone clone my private strategy? A: Only users who have been granted access can clone a private strategy.
