Direct Messages (Pro+)
Direct Messages (Pro+)
Direct Messages let you communicate privately with other StratBase.ai users. Available on Pro tier and above.
Requirements
- Pro ($29/mo) or higher subscription
- Free users cannot send or receive direct messages
Starting a Conversation
- Visit any user's profile
- Click Message button
- Type your message (1–5,000 characters) and send
If a conversation already exists with that user, it opens the existing thread.
Features
Reply to Messages
Quote and reply to specific messages in a thread — the original message appears as a preview above your reply.
Soft Delete
Delete individual messages. The message is hidden from your view but marked as deleted (the thread structure is preserved).
Unread Count
A badge in the navigation shows your total unread messages across all conversations. Mark conversations as read individually or view them to auto-mark.
Message Privacy Settings
Control who can message you via Settings > Privacy:
| Setting | Who Can Message You | |---------|-------------------| | Everyone | Any Pro+ user | | Followers | Only users you follow | | Nobody | DMs disabled |
Users who don't meet your privacy settings receive a 403 error when trying to message you.
Blocking Users
If you need to prevent specific users from contacting you:
- Go to the user's profile
- Click Block
Blocked users:
- Cannot send you new messages
- Cannot start new conversations with you
- Existing conversations become inaccessible
Telegram Integration
When someone sends you a direct message, you can also receive a Telegram notification (if connected):
- Notification includes sender name and message preview
- You can reply directly from Telegram — your reply is relayed back as a platform DM
See Connecting Telegram for setup.
