Q: What is StratBase.ai? A: StratBase.ai is an AI-powered backtesting platform for trading strategies. You describe trading ideas in natural language, and AI translates them into testable strategies. No coding required.
Q: Is StratBase.ai a trading platform? A: No. StratBase.ai is a research and simulation tool. It does not execute trades, manage portfolios, or connect to brokerage accounts. Results are historical simulations only.
Q: Does AI generate trading strategies? A: No. AI acts as a translator — it converts your ideas into formal configurations. It never suggests, recommends, or generates strategies on its own.
Q: What markets are supported? A: Crypto (Binance, Bybit — spot & futures), Forex (27 pairs via Dukascopy), and US Stocks (130+ symbols via Alpaca).
Q: Is my data safe? A: Yes. Passwords are hashed, verification codes use SHA-256, and all API communication is encrypted via HTTPS. We don't share user data with third parties.
Backtesting
Q: What is a backtest? A: A backtest simulates how a trading strategy would have performed using historical market data. It applies your entry/exit rules to past price action and calculates metrics like profit, drawdown, and win rate.
Q: Are backtest results guaranteed in live trading? A: No. Backtests use historical data and cannot account for all real-world factors (slippage, liquidity, market impact). Past performance does not guarantee future results.
Q: How many indicators can I use? A: You can combine up to 20 entry conditions and 20 exit conditions, each using different indicators from our library of 245+.
Q: Can I use multiple timeframes? A: Yes. Different conditions can use different timeframes (e.g., RSI on 1h, SMA on 4h). The engine handles multi-timeframe alignment automatically.
Q: What is the fastest timeframe? A: 1-second candles for Premium and Private plans (20 crypto symbols). 1-minute for all other plans.
Account
Q: Can I change my email? A: Yes. It's a 3-step process with verification codes. See Changing Password & Email.
Q: How do I delete my account? A: Settings → Profile → Danger Zone → Delete Account. This is permanent. See Data Export & Account Deletion.
Q: Can I use StratBase.ai without registering? A: You can browse the catalog, blog, news, and monitoring tools without an account. Creating backtests requires registration.
Pricing
Q: Is there a free plan? A: Yes. The Free plan gives you 5 backtests per day with 1-minute timeframe and 1-year maximum period. AI features are not included.
Q: Can I cancel anytime? A: Yes. Cancel through Settings → Subscription → Manage. Your plan stays active until the end of the billing period.
Q: Do you offer refunds? A: Full refunds within 48 hours of purchase. After that, you can cancel but won't be refunded for the current period.
Technical
Q: Which browsers are supported? A: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge (latest versions). Mobile browsers are also supported.
Q: The site is slow — what can I do? A: Try: (1) Clear browser cache, (2) Disable browser extensions, (3) Use Chrome for best performance, (4) Check your internet connection.
Q: Can I use StratBase.ai on mobile? A: Yes, the interface is responsive. However, the split-screen backtest creator works best on desktop.
